Martin Verdonk's Master Sessions

March 2017

Simon had the honor to be a part of a 2-day episode of Martin Verdonk's Master Sessions in Almere, NL. The percussionist gathers a new group of special guest musicians each month and records 4 songs per day, both video and audio - no overdubs, no autotune, no editing. Only REAL music. The episodes will be released in May 2017 and January 2018 so stay tuned. The sessions featured the Babylon Brothers from Norway (Erik Smith on Drums, Staffan William-Olsson on Guitar and Tom-Erik Antonsen on bass) as well as the great Peter Lieberom (sax) and the fantastic host, Martin Verdonk (percussion). The band had a fantastic time and the results were wonderful. Simon is feeling beyong honored and grateful about this experience with some of the most musical and tasteful players in Europe.

Mr. M's Jazz Club

March 2017

10th Anniversary

Simon is happy to announce that he's now part of the amazing Mr. M's All Star Band. In addition to touring all over Germany, every year at Marc Marshall's fantastic festival "Mr. M's Jazz Club" in Baden-Baden, Germany, this band performs with different international guest stars. The band is a selection of Germany's most sought-after session musicians who Simon has always admired: Bruno Müller, Hendrik Soll, Frank Lauber, Christian Von Kaphengst and Hans Dekker.

Three Nights Of Music and Love

This year's guests were Wolfgang Haffner, Rhani Krija, Johnny Logan, Joo Kraus, Peter Fessler, Torsten Goods, Jeff Cascaro, Kim Sanders, Fola Dada, Lucia Cadotsch, Judy Niemack, Charles Simmons and Marc Secara. What a family. Certainly one of the highlights in Simon's career.

Dear friends, musicians and music lovers,

it's been a while since I have updated this page (except for the tourdates). I've been doing a lot of touring, preparation for upcoming projects, it's been an amazing summer. Spent my time on tours with Philip Lassiter, Pimpy Panda, Torsten Goods, Kirk Fletcher and recording the third Twogether album!!! I'm now studying Keyboards/Piano/Hammond at Codarts Conservatory in the beautiful city of Rotterdam - I just love it here!!!
Apart from that, there will be a lot of exciting things happening over the next months.

After a great success with the first album "Bamboolicious", the second Pimpy Panda album will be recorded in October. So watch out for an exciting, hip-shaking mix of neo-soul, funk, gospel and all-around awesomeness. Looking forward to that one! I'm proud to announce that there is going to be at least one of my original compositions on the album.

There are a couple of amazing tour legs with Kirk Fletcher as well as other exciting concerts like a show with my hero Dr. Lonnie Smith and the Jazz Orchestra Of The Concertgebouw. Check the tourdates page for more exciting shows and tours that you might wanna come and see!

The third album of my main project, Twogether, will be produced in fall too, in collaboration with producer/developer duo Bart Oostindie and Yves Dupuits. It will be a huge step forward from the last albums. Look out for a release in early 2017.

I'll try to keep everything up to date! Hope to see you all soon and keep spreading love through music - it is more important than ever before at the moment.

One of europe's leading keyboard magazines, "Tastenwelt", published a portrait/interview article about Simon, covering his career, first steps in music and all current projects and plans!!! Special thanks to Klaus Tenner for

writing this great article.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!!

Here's a little treat I produced for all of you - an own arrangement/recording video of "The Christmas Song", which is actually my favorite Christmas song.

New Video - live with Philip Lassiter

AUGUST 2015 - it's going DOWN!

Let me introduce this booty-shakin' collective with some of the greatest musicians I know!!! I have the honor of tickling the B3, Rhodes and some more keyboards in this project, founded by the amazing Daniel Hopf, one of my musical soulmates.

CHECK THIS OUT!!!! It's serious!

Upcoming projects and shows

July 2015 - I'm delighted to announce a very special period of gigs and projects in the upcoming month. So much exciting stuff going on. Check it out:

First of all, I'll be playing at the "Nils Landgren Jazz Youngsters" concert in Rüsselsheim, Germany, on July 1st, along with my musical soulmate Jerome Cardynaals (drums) and, of course, Mr Red Horn, Nils Landgren. Such an honor. Nils has been one of the first and most important of my musical influences.

Next, I'll be heading to Gaildorf, southern Germany, for a wonderful blues festival. I'll be doing two shows there on July 4, first with The Özdemirs feat. Simon Oslender and later on with Sugaray Rayford and his band from LA on the main stage. This is gonna be exciting - come out and hang! I'll be there from July 3rd thru 5th to see all the greats like Robert Cray, Mud Morganfield, Bruce Katz and many more.

Shortly after, I'll hit the studio with great friend and master bass player Jo Didderen and his current project - watch out for the release, this music is going to make you feel good!!! :-)

The next recording session will be in Mallorca, Spain, along with Julian Vaughn (drums) and a few more killer musicians. Julian has played with literally everyone including BB King, Albert King, Johnny Guitar Watson, Jack McDuff, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Jimmy McGriff and all the legends. What an honor to be a part of his project.

And now for something completely different. Beginning of August, I'll be on my way to Rome to perform during a vespers with Pope Francis on St. Peter's Square - 4th of August. Yes, it's true. Still can't believe that this is actually happening. I'll be joining Gregor Linßen and his band, we'll be playing for thousands of visitors from all over the world. So exciting!

Last, but definitely not least, we had the chance to invite Philip Lassiter for a special show in Mülheim, Germany. Philip is one of the world's leading trumpet players and horn arrangers, known for his exceptional work with Prince, Snarky Puppy, Jil Scott, Cory Henry and many more!!! The line up will consist of Hanno Busch (guitar), Daniel Hopf (bass), Jerome Cardynaals (drums) and myself on B3 and keyboards. You don't want to miss this special opportunity to see one of the funkiest dudes out there with such a band... Be there - August 8, SOL Kulturbar, Mülheim an der Ruhr.

All the best to you guys!
